Mandy Hale’s “Turn Toward The Sun”

The last couple years have been tough for pretty much everyone, and we’re seeing more books hitting shelves as authors process that time on the page. Mandy Hale is no exception with her new release, Turn Toward The Sun. She’s known online as “The Single Woman”, but dating relationships aren’t the primary focus this time around.

In Turn Toward The Sun, Mandy opens up about her life during the pandemic, which was hit with an additional major stress: both of her parents were diagnosed with cancer within a month. She’s extremely close with both of her parents, so it was a devastating time for her and sent her anxiety all the way up. This book explores the difference between looking at life as ‘what is’ instead of ‘what if’, and what that looks like in a variety of situations, including touching on dating.

Mandy is incredibly vulnerable on the page in sharing her emotions through the rollercoaster of the last two years. She shares impactful lessons from her therapist and includes a whole chapter on what specifically her faith means to her. There’s a a lot to unpack in this short read, but for those going through these kinds of situations, her story can be beneficial and encouraging. And if you’re not going through the same struggle, don’t worry: Mandy has several other books to check out. 😉
