Book Review: “Lunar Love” by Lauren Kung Jessen

If you’re looking for a romance to read around Lunar New Year, look no futher than Lauren Kung Jessen’s debut novel, Lunar Love.

Lunar Love [Buy BookshopAmazon] introduces us to Olivia and Bennett. Their meet cute is in a bakery, but negotions over some buns is just the start of their rivals to lovers story.

Olivia is taking over her family’s matchmaking business, Lunar Love. They use information from the Chinese Zodiac to help singles find their future spouse. But Olivia learns there’s a dating app launching that claims to use the Chinese Zodiac to find matches in seconds. It’s a threat to her business, so she goes undercover on the app to see how it works and her fake profile ends up matched with its creator himself…. Bennett.

Hijinx ensue.

This was a cute and easy read. If you’re loioking for something with low spice, then this is for you. It is closed door romance, which isn’t entirely my vibe, and that’s ok.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
