Book Review: “She’s Not Sorry” by Mary Kubica

It’s been a minute since I’ve picked up a thriller, so it was time. Netgalley filled that hole with granting me access to She’s Not Sorry by Mary Kubica.

She’s Not Sorry [Buy Bookshop Amazon LibroFM] follows a nurse named Meghan. She works in the ICU and gets assigned to a patient who nearly died in a drop off a bridge. Meghan previously lost her sister to suicide, so she’s a bit on edge about the situation. Making matters worse, she’s recently divorced and sharing her daughter with her ex is proving to be difficult, plus someone is attacking women in her neighborhood. When she runs into a former high school classmate at a divorce support group, she feels like things are looking up a smidge since she has someone to talk to, but her friend appears to be in danger and Meghan feels compelled to help her.

Basically, there’s a lot going on in this story. What I want to say about it would give too much away, so I’ll just go with, there’s a lot going on.

This was a fun one. The first half was a little slow, but the big twist makes up for it. It caught me all the way off guard, which is hard to do. Other twists were a little more predicatable, but that first one…. shoooot. It was a good one and makes the first half make a heck of a lot more sense in how the story is told.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
