Book Review: “A Jingle Bell Mingle” by Julie Murphy & Sierra Simone

Ahhh. One last trip into Christmas Notch.

It’s hard to believe it’s been two full years since this delightful trilogy started and I’m so glad it did. A Jingle Bell Mingle is the third and final novel in Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone’s series. This time, we’re getting the “I” in INK’s story – Isaac.

In A Jingle Bell Mingle [Buy Bookshop Amazon LibroFM], Sunny is in Christmas Notch in search of inspiration. She accidentally sold a movie script to Hope Channel and now she just has that teeny tiny task of writing it. After Bee and Nolan’s wedding, she and Isaac end up in her hotel for their second one-night stand… even though neither of them is over the first one from two years ago. Isaac is not okay with the conditions of the inn and invites Sunny to stay with him at the big, fancy mansion.

She only agrees for the sake of her cat, because she’s a good cat mom. It has nothing to do with her interest in Isaac. Nothing at all. And nothing can go wrong.

Isaac needs a muse to write music about so he can get his final record finished and be done with his contract. Sunny doesn’t want to try to fill his dead wife’s shoes, so she sets him up on dates. Nothing can go wrong there either.

A Jingle Bell Mingle is exactly what we’ve come to expect from Julie and Sierra and I’m not mad about it. We’ve got our brooding boy, our bubbly girl, lots of laughter, and a heaping of spice, all wrapped up in a Christmas vibe. When these two write books, you know you’re getting angst and heart, and somehow, they make it work in the best way.

I loved that this book wrapped things up so well. All members of the INK band are now attached, and we get to see glimpses of their happy ever afters beyond their books. Plus, we get Uncle Ray Ray and Steph’s happy ending woven into the story. The Christmas Notch squad is thriving, and it’s all tied up beautifully. I wish Uncle Ray Ray and Steph got their own book, but this still gives us a satisfying ending.

This remains my favorite holiday romance series and I cannot wait to get my hands on whatever Julie and Sierra write next!

Rating: 4 out of 5.
