Book Review: “The Paradise Problem” by Christina Lauren

I’m semi-notorious for diving into books just on the vibes, but there is an elite group of authors that I trust so much, I don’t even need to know the vibes before I am practically rabid for the book. Christina Lauren is in that tier of author for me. I don’t care what they write. I will read it and become mildly obsessed with it for a while.

The Paradise Problem is no exception.

When we first meet Anna in The Paradise Problem [Buy Bookshop Amazon LibroFM], she’s watching her husband move out as they end the marriage. However, she’s not down about it. It was a marriage of convenience so they could get cheaper rent in family housing.

Now, a few years later, her life is kinda falling apart and he’s on her doorstep again with some tiiiiiiny details to discuss. Mainly, that they are still married legally and that he needs her to keep playing his wife at his sister’s wedding… on a remote private island. Oh, and his family is super rich, and his inheritance is tied up in their mariage lasting at least five years, so she’s really gotta sell it.

This books is such a delight. The marriage of convenience is executed well and the romance develops quite nicely. It’s got the standard Christina Lauren steam levels with so much fun along the way. Bonus, the rich family drama gets wild and really amps things up, especially toward the end. I could not put it down. I may have skipped another author event to finish reading this. Okay, I defnitely stayed home to read. It’s just that good.

As far as ranking this against CLo’s other books, I’d put this just slightly below The True Love Experiment and Something Wilder aka top tier.

Rating: 5 out of 5.
