Who is ready for a side of adventure in their romance?!
If you said yes, then Raiders of the Lost Heart by Jo Segura needs to be on your TBR.
Raiders of the Lost Heart [Buy Bookshop Amazon LibroFM] is the perfect read for fans of Indiana Jones and The Lost City. Corrie is an archaeologist known for her wild adventures…. and her big boobs, unfortunately. She gets approached for her dream dig, but they won’t tell her any details of who she is working with or for until she gets to Mexico.
When she arrives, she finds one of her best friends is on the team, but her nemesis is the one in charge. She and Ford had a moment in college where she thought they were putting their competitveness aside to get together, but he left and she soon found him sucking face with an influential person’s daughter, which she believed cost her a job. Now, they are stuck in the jungle together on a job where they have to learn to communicate and trust each other despite what their bodies want from the other.
There is a lot of miscommunication trope in this one. While they do have some conversations eventually, things would’ve been so much easier if they weren’t kinda pouty at each other and just talked about what was going on. That being said, I still enjoyed Raiders of the Lost Heart quite a bit. The steam was pretty good and there was much more adventure baked into the plot than I initially expected. I thought it was dragging on a bit too long, but things took a turn that made sense in the long run.
Overall, enjoyable!
