Book Review: “Knockout” by Sarah MacLean

I’m a big fan of Sarah MacLean‘s Hell’s Belles series because of their excellent blend of historical vibes, sassy women, humor, and of course, spice. The third book in the series is no different.

Knockout [Buy Bookshop Amazon LibroFM] finally gives us a little more about Imogen’s backstory along with her romance. I’ve loved her since the series started due to her love of explosions and her general spunk. When we start this story, Imogen is at the site of an explosion trying to figure out what details are important for solving who is behind it and a couple others. Tommy is an investigator for Scotland Yard and finds her snooping around. Without spoiling the scene, I’ll just say that there’s a little life-saving going on and it gets some attention.

This all just sets up Tommy getting involved in Imogen’s life to keep her safe while she’s busy with an investigation alongside the rest of the Hell’s Belles. There have been sparks between the two in prior books, so it’s exciting to finally get them together.

This book is so delightful. It had me laughing out loud and reading lines to my husband on several occasions. I really just love how sassy Sarah writes her heroines and keeps things fun. If you haven’t started this series yet, grab Bombshell [Buy Bookshop Amazon] and Heart Breaker [Buy Bookshop Amazon] immediately for a spicy fun time.
