Buckle up, buttercups. You’re in for a wild ride.
How I’ll Kill You by Ren DeStefano is about triples who are a smidge on the murdery side. As in, two are serial killers and the third sister handles the cleanup and disposes of the bodies. But now, it’s her turn to kill.
If that doesn’t get you, I don’t know what will. Lol
How I’ll Kill You [Buy Bookshop Amazon LibroFM) is told from Sissy’s perspective. Her sisters want her to pull her weight and kill someone already, but she wants her first to be special. When she sees Edison, she knows he’s the right one. She’s got his burial planned, but first, she has six months to make him fall in love with her and then she’ll kill him. We’re in her head as she’s thinking through the options and as she gets close to Edison. But, nothing can be so simple, so a piece of Edison’s past becomes a bit of a speed bump for Sissy. So does the neighbor, even though Sissy comes to like her.
There isn’t much more I can say without spoiling anything, so you’re gonna just have to check it out yourself.
This story is twisty and twisted in the best way. It’s wild and ridiculous and left me constantly wanting more. There are some bits that force you to suspend a touch of reality, but it wasn’t enough to throw me off the interest. The relationships between the sisters, and Sissy with other characters throughout the story are pretty well-developed, which is always nice to see. The ending is slightly predictable, but there are a couple ways it could go, so it isn’t too obvious that it ruins the fun.
