Nona Jones Is “Killing Comparison”

How many times a day do we compare ourselves to others, especially those we see on social media. I don’t want to think about it.

Nona Jones is one of us in that regard, and is opening up about the struggle in her new book, Killing Comparison. I’d never heard of Nona before, but she’s Facebook’s head of global faith partnerships and a preacher. This gives her a really unique perspective of social media’s impact on our mentality.

Nona shares personal stories about times when comparing herself and her accomplishments to others caused problems for her and how she overcame them. Bottom line, an insecure identity can lead to little things throwing you off your game in a big way. Her writing is simple and easy to follow, but also vulnerable and transparent.

While Killing Comparison is written from a faith perspective, I really think this information is helpful for everyone, no matter what you believe. If you’re on social media, you’ve probably had many of the thoughts she talks about in the book. There were so many great quotes and pieces of advice in Killing Comparison that I ran out of sticky tabs and blew through a color on a new pack. My pages are basically fringed now because there are so many tabs. Lol.

Just do yourself a favor and read Killing Comparison.
