Jasmine Guillory is “Drunk On Love”

Jasmine Guillory has been around for a minute with her popular Wedding Series, which made it onto Reese Witherspoon’s book club list. I was bummed that she ended the series to explore new characters, but I get the need to move on. However, fans of the Wedding Series won’t be disappointed by her newest novel, Drunk On Love.

Drunk On Love follows Margot Noble and Luke Williams. Margot co-owns a winery with her brother in Napa Valley. She retuns home from a business trip and tries to unplug from work at her friend’s restaurant. Sydney dares Margot to chat up the guy next to her at the bar, so she goes for it. They have a great time talking, and she goes back to his house for a night of fun. He drops her off at her house the next morning and gives her his number, but she’s not sure she will use it.

A few hours later, her brother introduces her to their new employee, who just so happens to be the guy from the night before. Oops.

Margot and Luke spend a lot of time trying to ignore the chemistry between them to keep things professional between boss/employee… but that’s easier said than done.

Luke has a lot going on on his side of things as well. He moved back home to Napa after quitting his job, but insecurities and half-truths have him on the verge of several messes. The world could definitely use a few more Lukes though, even if he does have a smidge of drama with him.

Overall, Drunk On Love was an enjoyable read. It’s nothing earth-shattering, but it’s still fun. I am hoping Jasmine will continue this series because Margot and Luke’s best friends would be some wonderful main characters. They both have big MCE and I think I might like them better than Margot. Heck, her brother would also be an interesting story since he’s kinda awkward/anti-social. That feels like a grumpy x sunshine just waiting to happen. I guess only time will tell….
