Who’s ready for a charming British love story?! Good. You’ve come to the right place.
Just Haven’t Met You Yet by Sophie Cousens follows Laura as she returns to the little island where her parents met. A coin split in two pieces led her parents to finding each other and was tied to her grandparents’ story as well. Now that her parents are dead, she’s trying to follow their story and write about it for the website she works for.
But, Laura is also pretty hungry for a husband. When she ends up with the wrong luggage, she goes through it and finds a bunch of items that lead her to believe that this is the man for her…. she just hasn’t officially met him yet. While a cab driver is taking her to places in her mom’s photos, she’s blabbing on and on about the dream man that she doesn’t really know.
All I’m gonna say is, things aren’t always what they seem.
Just Haven’t Met You Yet leans into romantic tropes but doesn’t shove them down your throat and I appreciate the heck out of that. It makes it much more enjoyable.
